Independent Contractors

Q:1How do I access Independent Contractor Portal?
A:1

Here is a step-by-step guide to accessing the Independent Contractor Portal.  This is a site exclusively for independent contractors, focused on independent contractors' informational and business needs.

If you are an independent contractor who has accessed CrossRoads before (now known as the Independent Contractor Portal):

  • Go to http://crossroads.schneider.com
  • Click the Independent Contractor Login tab.
  • Enter your driver number.
  • Enter your password.  You'll reach the Service Provider home page.  Click on the IC Community tab to access the independent Contractor Portal.
  • If you've forgotten your password, you may recover a working password in two ways:
    1. Use the "Forgot Password" prompt to try to reset your password.  This link will ask you to answer the challenge questions you had set up for your account.  If the challenge questions are answered successfully, you will be able to reset your password.
    2. If you can't reset your password as directed above, call the CrossRoads Support Desk at 1-800-558-7010, press 2 for Crossroads Support, then press 2.
    3. A Support representative will reset your password for you.  However, please make every effort to reset your own password as outlined above.

Once you complete those steps, click Sign In and you'll reach the Service Provider home page.  Click on the IC Community tab to access the independent Contractor Portal.

If you are an independent contractor who has never used CrossRoads (now known as the Independent Contractor Portal):

  • Go to http://crossroads.schneider.com
  • Click the Independent Contractor Login tab.
  • Enter your driver number.
  • Enter your initial password (the last four digits of your Social Security number repeated twice).  For example, if the last four digits of your Social Security number are 1234, then your password would be 12341234.
    1. Once logged in, you will set up your challenge questions.  These questions (the answers to which are only known by you) will enable you to recover a working password should you forget it.
    2. You can also change the Social Security-based password to one you will remember and use going forward.
    3. Following a successful account set up, you must accept terms of use in order to access the Independent Contractor Portal for the first time.  Once you accept the terms of use, you will arrive at the Service Provider home page.  Click on the IC Community tab to enter the Independent Contractor Portal
    4. If you forget your password, use the Forgot Your Password prompt to try to reset your password.  If you try resetting and it does not work, call the CrossRoads Support Desk at 1-800-558-7010, press 2 for Crossroads Support, then press 2.  A Support representative will reset your password.

Once you complete those steps, click Sign In and you'll reach the Service Provider home page.  Click on the IC Community tab to access the independent Contractor Portal.
